Great Blog (Really) To Read For Online Business Startups

June 28, 2008 By: KC Category: Internet Marketing, Make Money Online, My Reviews, Uncategorized 1 Comment →

I often see questions in forums asking what are the best resources to learn for creating online businesses. In my opinion, the best resources are forums and blogs written by people who have been there, and done that :) I will recommend the blog, Eric’s Tips, run by Eric Holmlund who is an internet marketing expert and has generated millions of dollars through online sales, both using his own and other people’s products. Eric is also the one who wrote, directed and produced competitive reality show, The Next Internet Millionaire.

Eric Holmlund

When I first visited Eric’s blog, I thought that this is going to be another teaching people how to make money online blog with several posts here and there embedded with affiliate links. I am totally wrong! You can easily see that Eric has put in a lot of effort compiling the video lessons teaching people how to exactly prepare themselves for their online business.

Well organized video lessons
Eric’s objective is to guide the readers through stages from planning to implementation of several of the business models (watch the videos to find out what model will he be teaching). At the time of writing, he has finished posting Lesson 8, which talks about what are the things needed for an online business.

If you are new to Internet Marketing, I would recommend following every of his videos to get a quick understanding of the process flow. If you have been in this field for at least a year, you can simply skip through some of the videos and watch those that you are interested. I have personally watched most of his videos and find that they are pretty high standard and carefully put together by Eric.

Check out Eric’s blog here :)

Do you have any other useful online resources to recommend for creating online business?

Three Techniques To Sound Like an Expert In Forum

May 10, 2008 By: KC Category: Uncategorized 3 Comments →

If you are like me, you may have been using forums as one of your solutions to find quick answers to commonly encountered questions or technical challenges. In my early days in Internet venture , I used to receive a lot of help from web design and programming experts in forums such as PHPBuilder and SitePoint. However, it is pretty common and easy to sound like an expert without knowing much in-depth of a particular topic. I will cover three techniques today on how you can achieve this and gain much creditability:

Quote an official source

This technique is what I have been doing most of the time. When you run across someone who needs a solution regarding some topics, try to recall if there is any other official sources supporting your solution before posting. For example, it is very common for people in Webmaster forums to say that Google PageRank is not important and they are not incorporated into the SERP (Search Engine Result Position). I will point them to Google official page and highlighting that this is not the case.

Your signature speaks louder than you

If you have been active in the forums, you should notice that most experts in their fields have signatures relating to what they are posting most of the time. For example, I receive a lot of help on CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) from this wonderful mentor, Paul O’B. You will notice that his signature is made up of several references to what he is doing: CSS.

Having signatures that link to useful pages relating to your expertise will help to increase the trust from other forum members and they will have an impression that you have been doing this most of the time.

Put up some links to the articles or references you have created on your expertise in your signature. If not, there is also no harm linking to some official related reference written by other experts, right?

Google makes you an expert within 5 seconds

There is a high chance that the solution that someone is looking for is already on the web. Hence, why not try to improve your searching skills and help out someone :) If are not a fan of search engine advance operators, you are missing a great deal of information that can help you or other people around you when a quick solution is needed. Check out Google’s advanced operators for more information.

April 12, 2008 By: KC Category: Uncategorized 2 Comments →

Get Insipred, Pursue Your Dreams

February 09, 2008 By: KC Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

I have been wanting to write a post on inspiration and I am glad that I have done so today. I have read a book by John C Maxwell and Dr. Les Parrott - 25 Ways To Win With People, and he quoted the following very appropriately stressing one of the ways to influence people. Read it slowly:

A person can live forty days without food, four days without water, four minutes without air, but only four seconds without hope.

Cherish Hope

So true.. Are you the one who often hammer and reject ideas or the slightest hope from your peers or colleagues? Isn’t it time for us to embrace their thinking and cherish their hopes? I begin my Internet venture three years ago when I decided to develop a free online game - Absolute III without any prior knowledge in web programming, database query language and all that design and server stuff. During that time, almost everyone around me discourages the idea but I simply persist just to satisfy my curiosity in being a Game Developer. I managed to push out the game within a year (include learning, coding, designing, troubleshooting, source for support etc.) during my studies and it was fun :D

Since then, I have branched out to Internet Entrepreneurship and found my passion in this field. What I want to say is that if it weren’t for the first step I made, I would not have the opportunity to meet with wonderful people like Dr Mel Gills, Stuart Tan and Dr eBay (Ben) in my lifetimeand to do the thing I love today.

One very useful tip that I learnt from the successful people is that they always tell me to stick around with high energy people. These people are commonly known as the Dream Boosters - they always look for opportunity under every circumstances and never put away someone’s hope - no matter how small or big it is.

Lastly, I believe we will be influenced by the songs we listen to as well. I have been listening to this inspiring song, When You Believe, by Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston and would like to recommend to you. You will love it!

Millionaire Mind Intensive, Part II

December 04, 2007 By: KC Category: Internet Marketing, Uncategorized 2 Comments →

After attending T. Harv Eker’s Millionaire Mind Intensive, I learn that energy is the main essence of success. People with high networth always has high energy and only surround themselves with like-minded people. It is said that it is not the thing we do that matters, it is how we do them. The trainer has been focusing on energy and they even told us that if you can only take away one thing from the three-day course, it would be Energy.

How you play the game here will determine how you play the big game outside

Thank you, fellow Millionaires (to-be)!

I would also like to thank the following course mates for their high energy and constantly participating at their very best to make this a fun event:

  1. Nathan from Defence Sector, for his generous sharing.
  2. James from IT industry, for his sharing on previous venture experiences.
  3. Moo Pin from the property trade, for his support in the arrow breaking challenge.
  4. Raymond from the publishing sector, for his experiences shared from attending other similar courses as well as his participation in the arrow breaking activity.
  5. Jhin Hin from the IT industry, for his time and patience to listen to my ‘old’ blueprint as well as a good buddy through out the event.
  6. Mavin from real estate sector, for his leading in the arrow breaking exercise.
  7. Most importantly, to Derek who introduced me to this event :)

I would also like to thank my group for the arrow breaking challenge, it is really exciting to be part of such a dynamic team!

New Direction, New Focus

October 21, 2007 By: KC Category: Uncategorized 3 Comments →

KC Hut - New Direction

For the last two years, I have been trying out many things that can generate revenue online: from game development, domain trading, coding jobs, selling advertisements, website flipping, Search Engine Optimization services, article writing to forum services outsourcing. With all these going on at the same time, I simply find myself no time in learning new things, technology and networking with other people.

In addition, it hits me hard to ponder over my online venture direction when I was asking some advices from the Internet Entrepreneurs during the Internet Millionaire Incubator session two weeks ago. One successful Entrepreneur asked me back the following question:

What makes you different from other Internet Entrepreneurs?
If I were to replace your brand in your advertisement with one of your competitors, will it make any difference? Are you doing something unique?

I could not answer the above question.. I have been doing a lot of stuff online but without a specialization and uniqueness.. As such, I would like to align this blog with my new focus:

KC Hut is not another make money online blog

I am currently planning on the theme of KC Hut as I do not want the visitors to classify us as another make money online blog out there with some general online money earning information.

I would most probably theme my blog to what I have been doing most successfully for the last one year - Forum Marketing & Opportunities and selling of websites. I believe by specializing myself to few niches will benefit me in a long run and I would be able to perform better in that niche.

Please let me know if you would like to see me talking about some other stuff. I appreciate any feedback, thank you :)

I have recently came to know of a very popular Internet Marketer in Asia, Stuart Tan. With his passion in IM and initiatives, he is starting a Charity Telemarathon, where he will be interviewing up to 36 experts in different walks of life and niches, how they started and set up an online business. Popular speakers include Yanik Silver, Benjamin M. Wee and Dr. Ron Capps.

Your donations will be channeled to needy children to help them to fulfill their wishes. Some of these children wishes that they could go to Disneyland but were limited by their current financial and time resources. We could help them by becoming a Full or Basic Donor (for $10).

The actual event will start on the 13 Sep 2007 (Singapore time). You can donate by first registering via the official SuperTelethon site. You will then receive further instructions on how to proceed.

Stuart is also calling all bloggers to come together and help to promote this meaningful event. If you are a blogger, kindly go to the SuperTelethon site and grab more details to publish in your blog.
