Increase Your Site’s Earnings By Optimization

No matter what niche you are in, Search Engine Traffic will most probably be part of the ingredients of your revenue model. This is particularly true if you are using Google Adsense (or any other PPC programs) as your main online income source as discussed in The Secrets of Adsense. I am highlighting how Google ranks our site in this post  so that you can work accordingly to increase your rankings, and eventually, your earnings.

First, I have to inform you that there is no one element that determines the ranking of a site according to a search term. Google recently says that they are using over 200 signals to determine their SERP (Search Engine Results Position):

Given the user’s query, over 200 signals (including the analysis of the site’s content and inbound links as mentioned above) are applied to return the most relevant results to the user.

The following is a video put up by Google Webmasters team to illustrate what are other important factors that we should take note when trying to optimize our site for SERP:

The only person that I would recommend for you to learn SEO from is Aaron Wall (besides the Google Engineers who are working on the ranking algo..). Aaron is giving a live presentation on the 21 Oct 2008, 12:00 PM Pacific Time (US & Canada). Check out his post of you are interested to register (for free). Highly recommended!

All in all, never try to deceive the search engines. Follow the Google Webmasters Guidelines and you can’t be wrong :)
