How to create listings that most people will click?

I have received an email from a reputable Internet Marketeer recently bearing the title, I could charge $97 for this [Free download]. This is an excellent bait to me at that point of time and I believe the Click-Through Rate (CTR) for this particular email is as high as 70% to 90% of his active subscribers.
We can easily relate the above example to how we can increase the CTR for our listing in forums. Basically, there are only two main factors in order for this example to work for you; Reputation and Perceived value.
If you have been pretty active in the forums helping people solving their issues or has been creating a buzz about your products or services, you can easily tweaked the title into one of the following to achieve a high CTR:
- I could charge $97 for this [Free download, limited time]
- I could charge $47 for this service [Free trial, limited slots]
