Generate More Income Without More Traffic
It is quite common seeing Webmasters asking question in the forums or Google groups on how to increase traffic. It is nature to think of traffic if we want to increase the revenue generated from our websites. However, many has missed out one important area where they can leverage can increase revenue by at least another 20% without more traffic.
Analytics is the answer
It makes little sense to increase the traffic to your site if you have an extremely high bounce rate. High bounce rate simply means that your site does not have what your visitors are looking for (upon first impression). Hence, it is essential for us to take a look at our web statistics and fix any problem before moving further. Google Analytics and AWStats are good tool to analyze your traffic.
Some of the important metrics you should be looking at are the traffic sources (where are your traffic coming from), search engine keywords referrals and top exit pages. By studying these statistics, it has helped me in gaining an extra 20% revenue from my sites.
For example, you can take a look at the statistics and take note of the top three websites that send you the most traffic and determine your marketing effort. In addition, you can reduce the number of visitors leaving your site by studying the top three exit pages in your site. I often use Website Optimizer to create new pages and test out the effect. It works great

In my opinion, it is a must for Webmasters to utilize the three free tools that Google is offering: Webmaster console, Google Analytics and Website Optimizer.
