So Many Forums, So Little Time

For the past several years, I have been participating in big forums as well as new ones created by aspiring community leaders. At certain point, I just couldn’t keep up with all these forums as more and more forums and opportunities arise. This may have happened to you and what I have done is to concentrate on the top few forums in my niche (80/20 principle). This post will illustrate what are the top forums you must not miss out if you are into that particular niche:

Participate in top forums

For your technical challenges

Nothing beats Sitepoint when it comes to a huge and supportive members that are always willing to share their knowledge to the community. I have received most of the help from Sitepoint for my first project :)

The second forum you should sign up for is the WebHostingTalk. This forum is especially useful if you have doubts about your web hosting problems. From my experiences, it does not take more than 1 hour to receive the first response at WHT :)

For freebies, marketing and online business

When it comes to free marketplace and resources, DigitalPoint is the only forum you need. From free templates to eBooks, I have benefited a lot from other members in DP for the last few years. Besides the freebies thrown in by the members at times, you can also take advantage of their free marketplace to sell or trade your product / services to hundreds of eager buyers easily.

For your domain names venture

As domain names is an important part of the online business venture, it is also critical for us to participate in forums that focuses on domaining. NamePros is one excellent place for domain names acquisition, trading and valuation. The best part is that NP is a free to join community that is same with Sitepoint, DigitalPoint and WebHostingTalk :)

P.S. If you are looking for advertisers for your website or blog, try out here and here :D
Good luck!

  1. KC, do you have any recommendations on forums that are more targeted to Asia Pacific? I used to follow DigitalPoint and SitePoint but found that most of time I am having a hard time following their development, and in the end due to info overload I unsubscribed from them.

  3. Hi Razlan, may I know what niche are you in? In general, I find that DP and SP is excellent in learning and keeping up with the others in terms of Internet Marketing and online business ideas. I have subscribed to several local forums but did not benefit from them… unless you are promoting your services / products to certain geographical target.

By the way, thanks for coming to my blog :)

  4. Same niche as you are, KC :)

Yes, I guess you are right. I should really evaluate my perception on SP and DP. Afterall, it has been 3 years since I was last active on them.
