How To Make Money Online - 4th Post
When we mention affiliate marketing, a lot of people will only think of promoting products. The more products we sell, the more we earn from the commission. Some may not know that affiliate marketing can also consists of leads generation. I will cover the generation of leads to earn affiliate commission in this post
What are leads?
Also known as Pay-Per-Lead, it is the enabling of an advertiser to receive membership / sign-ups from any marketing media. For example, I have an online dating review site that recommends people to sign up for a free account at dating.com. Every link from my site to dating.com contains my affiliate ID, hence, whenever people sign up a free account through my affiliate link, dating.com will pay me $3 each. (Yes, no purchase needed)

It sounds easy, what’s the catch?
It is easy… if only you are the one doing
Unfortunately, there are many affiliates doing the same thing currently which cause the competitiveness of the market to increase tremendously. The top two niches like online dating and ring tones are commonly termed as saturated most of the time.
In addition, not every lead qualifies. This means that the advertisers actually lay out some rules for the marketers to follow in order for a payout to occur. For example, most advertisers only want to receive leads from United States. Some even specify the members’ age group in order to qualify as a lead.
Despite all the above, if you can find a niche that does not have much competition and knows where to attract the right traffic, generating an income of $1,000 per month is certainly possible. Just to share with you, top affiliate marketers earn more than $50,000 every month just from affiliate marketing alone. The reason simply because you can get as high as $20 just for a lead
I am interested, where do I start?
First, you would need to sign up a reputable affiliate network. My top recommendation would be AzoogleAds. They have a huge network of products and services that you can promote. They also pay regularly and is one of the most popular network among the top affiliates.
Next, you will need to attract traffic from the search engines via Pay-Per-Click campaign. This is the most common way and is the fastest to get targeted traffic. Getting traffic by launching PPC campaign is a huge topic by itself. I will blog about this in near future. If you need more information, simply drop by DigitalPoint forum to clarify or research further. In short, it needs a small amount of money to earn more money

As long as the products / services and the involved blogs are related, it is fairly easy to pull in revenue from affiliate marketing. For me, most of my affiliate income comes from content / review websites other than blogs.

I think affiliate marketing takes a lot of effort to get started in. Although from the outside it seems simple enough, actually converting visitors to leads can be very difficult.

Lead generation is the best type of affiliate marketing, you need people to give you their info and then sell it on to the highest bidder a much better way.
