The Power of the Pitch
I have been reading this book by Gary Hankins and was constantly amazed by the useful content presented chapters after chapters 
I would like to recommend the book The Power Of The Pitch, to anyone who wants to learn and master the technique of the Persuasive Presentation. Of course, we will not become experts in presentation just by reading this book but it is definitely a good start to have this book by your side every time we prepare for a presentation.
The initial chapters focus on the basics like standing posture, hand gesture and voice dynamics. How do we project our voice to the audience and how to position our team together with the customers. Although there are a lot of basics covered here, you will also find other interesting facts as well. For example, do you know every person needs at least 5 minutes of good laugh everyday?
This book proceeds to illustrate how can the presenter starts off to capture the audience’s attention and focus on the topic. Following that, how do we structure our material base on the ISB model; Issue, Solution and Benefits.
You will also learn how to close your presentation with power. Avoid ending the presentation by saying ‘thank you’ is one thing that I find very useful in every persuasive pitch.
Aside from the useful techniques , Gary also highlights the common mistakes that we make during a presentation. Things like making trivial comments and apologizing at the start of the presentation should be totally avoided.
This is a great book that I think will benefit everyone even if you seldom present to others. The reason is because we are selling something everyday, whether its convincing your boss with your proposal, communicating your ideas with your team, overcoming objections in any place you might thought of or even meeting your future prospects in an elevator.
