Traffic That Drives The Most Cents Out Of Google Adsense
I have seen many questions in forums and blogs that asked why a site has high traffic but still perform poorly with Google Adsense. The standard answer to this question are: Improve your ads placement and Increase your incoming traffic. These is correct, but there are more to it.
Nothing beats Search Engine Traffic
To the most Google Adsense high earners, they will agree with me that the most important factor (yes, even more important than traffic count) is the type of traffic. Search Engine traffic is the best channel if you want to profit from Google Adsense or any contextual ads.
Why is this the case? Well, if you come to think of it, you will notice that those people that land on your site from the search engines are those that are searching for something. Hence, there is a very high chance for them to click your ads if the ads are highly relevant to your content.
This is the reason why most blogs do not earn much from Adsense as they do not have much traffic from the Search Engines. Blog traffic contains a high percentage of regular readers who, 10 out of 10, will not click any Google Ads.. Blog readers just drop by your blog to have a glance of your latest posts before they move on to other sites or blogs.
Here comes the ads placement
If you have the traffic from the search engines, then the next thing you should focus is on the ads placement. I personally prefer blending rather than standing out of the content. The reason why blending works is because it blends into your content and make it not so obvious as an ads to normal ’search engine users’. Yes, you will be surprised that how many Internet users are clicking Google ads nowadays without realizing that they are doing so.

When all three elements combine
You will really see the effect when you have tons of search engine traffic with a good blending ads blending strategy. In my experience, you can break the $100 per month limit if you have minimally 70,000 impression from the search engines per month approx (it still depends on the keywords + CTR).
Try to optimize your site for the search engines if you really want to earn good money from the Adsense. Other traffic does work but it takes more to convert. There are many resources online that talks about Search Engine Optimization Techniques. I will also blog about some effective SEO techniques soon ![]()
