How To Find Things Not In Google

It is common nowadays that most Internet users are using Google as their first step for information gathering. If no results were found, most people will conclude that the information is not online.. Good news is that there are still several ways that we can find the information even if it Google did not list them. Allow me to elaborate.

Try other Search Engines

Although most searchers are using Google, it does not mean that Google has everything we want. It is highly recommended to use other search engines before we draw the conclusion. The following list is some of the Search Engines that you should try searching as well:

  1. Yahoo
  2. MicroSoft Live Search
  3. Ask.com
  4. AOL Search
  5. AltaVista
  6. Lycos
  7. NetScape Search

Search Engines are working to improve their respective algorithms day after day. Therefore, you might be surprised by the results shown by the other Search Engines.

Use CantFindOnGoogle.com

Cannot Find On Google Screen Shot

This site exists for good intention :) In CantFindOnGoogle, searchers can put up their request on what are the information that cannot be found in Google. Members will then help out each other by suggesting relevant information sources or useful advanced search techniques.

You can also find some interesting stuff that people is trying to search for :D In my opinion, this site has not reached its full potential yet. As more and more people aware of this site, it will really create a powerful community!

Get for some quick answers

Another community based solution is to use Yahoo! Answers. They have a truly active members base and you may be able to get some relevant reference from some knowledgeable members there.

I find that although the answers provided may not be complete most of the time, but it helps to get started sometimes.

Brush up your search techniques

I would say that most of the time, Google results depend on the proficiency of the searchers. Therefore, it would help if we understand some of the useful techniques for searching. You may refer to this Google Search Techniques Article for more details.

All the best in finding what you want :D
