Optimizing a site should be one of our primary concern when creating a new site. A top ten listing in Google can easily receives 100 to 1000 clicks per day depending on the niche. Most webmasters rely on the search engine traffic for conversion of their services or products. Just imagine a conversion rate of 1 to 2% of the daily traffic (just from the search engine alone)

After understanding the basics, try to participate in the online discussion forums like DigitalPoint to learn from other webmasters’ experiences.
